Models Own Smash Up Crackle

I have been procrastinating on writing my blog lately, cause I have been busy on other things. I got a package for me a few days ago and it is from Models Own It. They had a giveaway contest on their Facebook page last month, to commemorate on their 50,000 Likes on their page. There were several giveaway sessions and I was lucky enough to be one of the ten runner up for their 48,000 Likes giveaway session. The runner up prize for that session was a set of their famous Smash Up Crackle Polish! On their site they only have 5 colour choices for the crackle polish collection. But I got 6 polish! Including the gold crackle which was not on the site for sale.

They came in a black box and inside, they have papers around another box, which they said to be their customized set box. To be honest, the wrapping was kind of too loose for an international shipping. There was no bubble wrap or any other support other than the paper stuck inside the bigger black box.. But it reached me safe and sound, no spill, no breakage, it is intact :) Around each bottle as usual there's always have a plastic seal wrapped around it to show that it is a new product and not used. I like how they do that! But at the same time, I always feel bad tearing up plastic seal.. :(

Black, Purple (shimmer), Pink (neon)

Orange (neon), Silver (metalic), Gold (metalic)

As you can see above, the crackles made by the polish is pretty nice! They definitely didn't lose a bit from OPI Shatter or China Glaze Crackle. Excuse the pink and gold, I chose wrong base colour and it turns out ugly. I gave it a second chance and the pic is on the bottom, they are really nice! The application was okay, black was great in all aspect, purple, pink, orange was too sheer for a crackle. And that results in changing colour when they are put on (look pink turns purple on blue). And might cause visible bald spot like on the purple one. We know that crackle polish dries up really quickly as they need to crackle, and if we double coat the crackle polish, it might sweep away the first coat, and we all hate that. The silver one turns out to be really pretty! In fact, I like it more than the OPI Silver Shatter! If you don't have one, you should get it! The gold, I don't really have much words to say because I think they got me an old or leaky bottle. The formula was thick, and the bottle mouth was filled with dried polish. But I can say that when it cracks on my nails, it made me forget all that. It is very beautiful! Too bad though, I don't have a lot of polish that matches gold crackle polish..

Excuse the purple one, I accidently bumped my fingers onto it when it is not yet dry. The gold turns out really pretty on dark base colour. The pink turns out to be neon but still very sheer.

In conclusion, I really like this set of polish, and with all the crackle hype already going down, I am still pretty happy to receive this set. Especially knowing they have purple, orange and gold, which I don't have. I would definitely use it again in the future. Thank you Models Own for the giveaway and the beautiful prize :)
